Step-by-Step Guide: How to Correctly Install Keystone Jacks

Operational Procedures
 
1. Tool Preparation: Network cable (Cat5e/Cat6), network module, punch-down tool, wire stripper, crimping tool, and cable tester are neatly arranged on the workbench.

2. Wire Stripping (Close-up): The wire stripper removes 2-3 cm of the network cable’s outer insulation, exposing 4 pairs of twisted wires without damaging the conductors.

3. Wire Arrangement: Conductors are aligned per T568B standard (white-orange, orange, white-green, blue, white-blue, green, white-brown, brown) and trimmed to 1.5 cm.

4. Punch-Down & Securing: Conductors are inserted into the module’s color-coded ports, pressed vertically with the punch-down tool, then the module is snapped into the faceplate and fastened to the wall box.

5. Testing Process: The cable tester is connected to the module and crystal head; 8 indicator lights flash sequentially to confirm successful installation.
